Ugh, Sorry, that's just getting REALLY aggravating.

This is the scene from Chapter 10 of Deliverance. Crystal and her team discover that one of the Eye of Gaull shards was purchased by Lord Victor Valamar, who thought it was just a piece of art. The team travels to the city of Ordale, a city full of Daldussan nobles who all purchased land in Cierith after the invasion. Crystal and Blaze walk into Valamar’s mansion and tell him a bogus story about the shard being cursed (as Gavril put it, they weren’t technically lying). Valamar, being a notorious philanderer, becomes smitten with Crystal and tells her that if she goes on a date with him, he will give her the shard.

After grudgingly agreeing, Crystal gets dressed up and Valamar takes her to dinner at a restaurant in town. He then brings her to his study in his mansion for an evening drink.

Of course, Crystal refuses his (many) advances all night. Instead of taking the hint, however, Valamar just assumes that she is playing hard-to-get. This guy likes a woman who is a challenge, and because Crystal has been his biggest challenge yet, Valamar decides he wants to marry her. Here he is (with boundary issues) leaning over her chair and seductively asking her to marry him. And she has that “WAT?” face lol.

So yeah, before those of you who didn’t read the book say “DAWWWWW how romantic!!! :D:D <3<3<3,” Valamar’s advances are NOT welcome lol.

And another note, Blaze has to bust into the room and knock the shit out of Valamar. After Crystal refuses his proposal and demands the shard, Valamar tries to force himself on her. NOT romantic lmao, but of course Blaze saves the day! :D

She's 20 actually. But in the book she later tells another guy (Blaze, the guy she's about to make love to in the other picture) that with everything she's been through, she was sheltered and protected by her mentors and friends and never had any kind of physical attraction to anyone. Every man in her life before she met him watched her grow up and see her as family. She put in her mind that training and taking down the bad guy came first, so when Blaze comes along, she experiences sexual tension for the first time. So being that she's never experienced any of these feelings at this moment, this horny rich guy is creeping her out! Lol
